Fraze Pavilion is pleased to announce that Pollstar Magazine has ranked the concert venue 24th on the Top 100 Amphitheatres Worldwide, based on overall tickets sold through the 3rd quarter of 2011.
“This would not be possible without our loyal fans, dedicated staff, support from our many sponsors and the City of Kettering,” claims Karen Durham, Fraze Pavilion General Manager. She continues, “This is an extraordinary accomplishment, especially considering our market size and the other larger venues we compete with.”
Other venues on the list included Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado at number 1, Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl ranked 12th, PNC Pavilion at Riverbend ranked 48th and Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta was 61st.
Concerts by Alison Krauss & Union Station, Trace Adkins, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Earth Wind & Fire, Steve Miller, David Sanborn, k.d. lang, The Go-Go’s and The B-52s all helped secure our place in the magazine. We continued to add to this success with $2 and $5 events by Committed (with Fairmont High School’s Eleventh Hour), Jake & Elwood’s Blues Revue, The Menus and Uriah Heep.
The first time Fraze Pavilion ranked as a Top 100 Amphitheater Worldwide based on tickets sold by Pollstar Magazine was in 2005. In 2009, our ranking was 51, and by the close of 2010, we broke the Top 50 and placed number 47 on the chart.
Thank you for celebrating our 20th Anniversary with us and continuing to support Southwest Ohio’s premier outdoor amphitheatre!
