Sanctus Real

KETTERING- Hey Fraze Fans, coming up this Sunday, July 27, spend an inspirational afternoon and evening at the Miami Valley’s ‘One and Only’ venue for Summer’s Best Music… FRAZE!

It’s the first ever GospelFest presented by our friends at Kettering Health Network, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary.

GospelFest begins at 3:00 P.M with local groups performing, and then at 7:30 p.m. Sanctus Real takes the Fraze stage. And, did I mention it’s all free?

The event was the brainchild of Jarrod McNaughton, Vice President of Mission & Development for KHN.

“I thought it would be a great way for people to come together from different denominations and celebrate the faith-based nature of our care knowing it would be a perfect fit for Kettering, not only because we’re celebrating 50 years of caring for the community, but also because of our faith-based mission. It’s a wonderful way to connect with folks who share our belief that faith plays a major role in health and healing,” says Jarrod.

Sunday is also a wonderful opportunity to showcase local gospel groups as well.

“We actually had a team of judges who helped picked those that would be performing, including Kettering City Council members to several radio station DJs. Over 35 bands auditioned for only 10 slots. We ended up having 50 bands who wanted to audition, but all the slots were filled. It was a great testament to how excited the community is about the event.”

The local and regional groups performing are Eureka Park, Apex, The Townsmen and Shelly, Berachah Valley, Community Christian Church Praise Team, John Stone, Shawanda Smith, Majestic Sounds Quartet and Fairhaven Band.

The evening is topped off by Sanctus Real who began sixteen years ago in the basement of the home belonging to guitarist Chris Rohman’s parents. Their purpose has never wavered even as musical trends have come and gone.

It surely will be an uplifting Sunday at Fraze.

“Our hope is that folks will better understand Kettering’s mission and culture,” Jarrod says. “We not only will have inspiring music throughout the afternoon, but also several booths set up where people can learn more about Kettering and our partners. Hope to see you there!”

All we’re missing now is a big 50th birthday cake!

Hint Jarrod, hint.
