Mix 107.7 FM brings SummerFest to Fraze Pavilion for 18th Season

(May 20, 2016) It’s hard to believe that SummerFest has been coming to Fraze Pavilion since 1999. This popular collaboration between radio station Mix 107.7 FM and Fraze Pavilion has been a highlight for summer concert-goers.

This season, the event takes place on Saturday, July 2 with music starting at 7:30 PM with The Romantics, followed by Night Ranger, and capping off with Rick Springfield.

2016 marks the fourth time that Springfield has performed for SummerFest in Kettering Ohio. He performed at the inaugural event in 1999 with Air Supply. Again in 2002 with The Outfield and the Fixx, and in 2006 with Eddie Money and Loverboy.

This year, the ever-popular artist returns with a brand new studio album, Rocket Science, featuring songs “Light This Party Up” and “Down.”

Night Ranger is no stranger to SummerFest, as this will be their fourth appearance. Their popularity can be attributed to their smash hits “Sister Christian,” “When You Close Your Eyes” and the anthemic “(You Can Still) Rock In America.” For SummerFest in 2000, they performed along with Starship & Mickey Thomas; with Pat Benetar in 2003; and who can forget the day-long 2008 10th SummerFest Celebration with nine other bands.

The Romantics were also one of the 10 groups performing at SummerFest 10 in 2008. This season’s SummerFest will mark their second appearance with songs like “That’s What I Like About You,” “When I Look In Your Eyes” and a cover of Ray Davies’ “She’s Got Everything.”
